The name "linguine" is derived from the Italian word "lingua," which means "tongue." Linguine pasta is believed to originate from the Campania and Liguria regions of Italy, where fresh seafood abounds.   • 100g durum wheat semolina

  • 100g all-purpose flour

  • 3g salt

  • 2 large eggs (alternatively, 100ml water)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Preparation Linguine Pasta

Begin by mixing the durum wheat semolina, all-purpose flour, and salt in a large bowl, ensuring that the dry ingredients are well combined. Create a well in the flour and add the large eggs and olive oil. Start incorporating everything with a fork, gradually combining the ingredients. After a while, continue kneading the dough with your hands, shaping it into a smooth ball. Alternatively, you can use a food processor to knead the dough.

Add more flour if the dough is too sticky or a little water if it's too dry.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for about 30 minutes. This allows the dough to relax and makes it easier to roll out.


After the dough has rested, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a thin, rectangular sheet. Use a rolling pin to evenly thin out the dough. Subsequently, cut the rolled-out dough into narrow strips to create linguine noodles. You can do this with a sharp knife or a specialized pasta cutter.


Finally, cook the fresh linguine in boiling salted water for about 2-4 minutes.

Serve the noodles with one of your favorite sauces, whether it's a tomato sauce, pesto, butter and Parmesan, or another delicious variation.


Tip: You can also allow the pasta to dry on a specialized pasta drying rack or simply place it on a lightly floured baking sheet to dry.
