Mushroom Caps in Air Fryer

Looking for a quick, delicious, and healthy dish that’s packed with flavor? These stuffed mushroom caps with creamy spinach and feta crumbles are perfect for a balanced diet! Whether as a snack, main dish, or side – they are low carb, high in protein, and incredibly tasty. Thanks to the air fryer, they turn out crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Sounds good? Ingredients for mushroom caps
1 pack of large mushrooms (e.g. portobello or giant mushrooms)
150 g fresh spinach leaves
100 ml cream or plant-based alternative
50 g feta crumbles (or vegan alternative)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 pinch of salt & pepper
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp butter or olive oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
Instructions for mushroom caps
1. Prepare the mushrooms
Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems.
Rub them with olive oil and season lightly with salt.
2. Make the creamy spinach
Sauté spinach in a pan with butter/oil.
Add garlic and cook briefly.
Stir in cream, nutmeg, salt & pepper, and let simmer for 3 min.
Add lemon juice and remove from heat.
3. Fill the mushroom caps
Stuff the mushrooms with spinach and sprinkle with feta crumbles.
Optional: Add breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
4. Air Fryer Time!
Place the mushrooms in the air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 12-15 minutes.
They’re done when the cheese turns golden and the mushrooms are juicy.
