We are not re-inventing the wheel in this court, but we are doing something a little better. This time there is a little something for our beef fans. Classic hummus is so versatile. The simple basei can be customised. More often than not, there is some chopped hummus left over after roasting a burger. With hummus, we can use this very quickly and nothing ends up in the rubbish.
Ingredients for minced beef Humus
1 clove of garlic
1/2 lime
200 g chickpeas
Salt and pepper to taste
1 onion
Beef (amount as desired, vegetarian alternative: soy or lupine steak)
1 tsp cumin
A bunch of fresh coriander
A handful of pistachios
Pinch of Piri Piri powder (optional)
Instructions for minced beef Humus
Start by chopping the garlic clove and squeezing the juice of half a lime. This will be the base of your hummus.
Take 200 g of chickpeas and blend them together with the garlic and lime juice. Season the mix to taste with salt and pepper. Make sure the chickpeas are well pureed to achieve the ideal consistency.
Now chop the onion finely and sauté it in a pan until it becomes translucent. Add the beef and season it with salt, pepper, and a teaspoon of cumin. The cumin gives the meat a unique flavor.
For garnishing the dish, chop some fresh coriander and crack a few pistachios. You can either leave the pistachios whole or roughly chop them - whichever you prefer.
Now it's time to serve: Place the meat on the hummus and garnish with the coriander and pistachios. If you like, add a pinch of Piri Piri powder and squeeze an additional bit of lime over the dish.
